Bernard Agyekum

Bernard Agyekum is a Project and Programme Management Professional, a visionary and strong Business Change Leader with over 20 years’ experience cutting across various highly regulated sectors. He has led organisations implement and operationalise high value Transformation and business change Programmes and iconic Projects in IT and Telecommunications, delivering Infrastructure, Operations Support and Services Management. He has worked with and delivered to IT and Project Management Consultancy's, Financial Services, Aerospace & Defence, Oil & Gas as well as Tertiary Education institution and firms in UK and Africa and have wide regulatory and commercial awareness. 

He started his working career as an IT professional in 1996, became a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer before transitioning to a career in Project and Programme Management in the United Kingdom and worked in the City of London and Canary Wharf for many years. Some of the companies he worked for are Siemens Business Services UK, Thales UK, and Fujitsu Services, UK, where he was assigned as Project Manager to high profile clients including Lloyds TSB Bank now Lloyds Banking Group, the then Financial Services Authority (FSA), UK and Thomson Reuters. Managing teams of various sizes across different work streams, Bernard successfully led and delivered high profile outcomes, using his strong expertise in projects spanning across multiple geographic locations in Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) and worked with international teams on a global Programme.

Having joined Vodafone in 2010, Bernard worked in Ghana as Head of Programmes for Networks, heading the Programme Management office (PMO) and subsequently, Head of Governance and had the Logistics Operations added to his portfolio for efficient management to help drive and support the organisation’s transformation agenda and deliver a strategic network infrastructure expansion and other high value capital investment Programmes and Projects to achieve the strategic objectives and targeted market share. 

 

He worked is Deputy Director at the University of Professional Studies leading the Digital Transformation Programme and championing the paperless agenda. 

As an accomplished Programme and Project Professional with many years’ experiences underpinned with a strong background in Operations and Delivery, he has a proven track record of responsibility, integrity and commitment to delivering company objectives and have worked on a global programme and also managed international project teams in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA)

 

Bernard holds a BSc in Planning from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Ghana, a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Systems Analysis and Design from City University, London and an MSc in Project Management from University of Westminster, London. He is also Prince 2 and Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) accredited and hold a full membership of the Association for Project Managers (MAPM), UK and served as committee member on the Governance SIG of the APM.
